I’ve been in the inspiring city Stockholm for the last weekend. During my time here I discovered a lot of great cafés, shops and places, which I would like to introduce to you over the next few weeks. In the end there will be a map and a final guide for you – with all of my tips for a citytrip to the largest city of Scandinavia.
I started my short summer Stockholm trip with a excursion to the green idyll of Rosendal’s Trädgård. This excursion-destination was a castle garden, located on one of the many islands of Stockholm: Djurgården. Perhaps this island is already known to you from a travel book, after all, you will find here beside Rosendals Trädgård, the ABBA and the Vasa Museum, a large amusement park and a few more attractions.
Most beautifully for me was the garden belonging to the Rosendals castle. Not only that it offer a wide variety of botany by means of flowers and vegetables, which can also be purchased in the associated green house, it also own a café and a own shop. In the store you can buy many of the delicacies that are grown here (in form of food, cakes, jams and other delicacies).
But also the row of the inviting greenhouses with their beautiful decor is worth a visit – even if you are in a citytrip reasonably decides against a purchase of a few flowers. With its coffee place and a nice kiosk, Rosendals Trädgård is also a beautiful café alternative in the green of Stockholm. A coffee break in Sweden is called „Fika“ and of curse I took some time to make such a break on the green island!
During my first Fika in Stockholm – with a view of the big meadows and their apple trees – I had a delicious latte macchiato (I have drunk during my three-day trip a lot of good coffee, more in the other contributions!) and a Swedish cinnamon bun.
