The Hej Papa in Hamburgs district Neustadt I have visited several times, but I never presented it on the blog. Shame on my head, because it is so beautiful there! With the present day, however, this will change: Last week I was here for lunch with a friend and finally had my camera with me for shooting the photos of this article.
The fact that the district Neustadt has a lot to offer, you know already from my Instagram posts. After a round tour through the quarter or before a stop at the great shop Winkel van Sinkel, for example, a break in this cafe in the street Poolstraße fits perfectly! The Hej Papa with its beautiful large window front, the great long wooden tables and the open kitchen was founded in 2011 by Lisa and her father Heiner.
I love to start my day here with a breakfast. Preferably in the morning on one of the seats in the window from which you can watch the passers-by. There are only a few options for breakfast on the menu during the week, but the choice is really everything my breakfast heart desired: different coffee creations, croissants, muesli, scrambled eggs or sandwiches. During Weekends you can order a few more variations of breakfast (a picture of my delicious dish during a previous visit of Hej Papa you can see above left).
This time I visited Hej Papa not for breakfast, I was there for a relaxed lunch with a friend on a gray autumn day. From the daily changing lunch, I chose pasta with baked pumpkin, radicchio, walnuts and ointment butter. It was delicious!
My companion chose a vegetable tarte with a salad and both were shared (for the delicious dishes we just wanted to try not only one thing). The good taste at Hej Papa is probably due to the fact that all the dishes are prepared with regional ingredients and love from Heiner and the Hej Papa team. In the creation of the delicious food care is also taken to ensure which food is in season.
If you are as enthusiastic about this place as I am, you can also pick a little Hej Papa Feeling for your home: there is a fine delicatessen- and bookshelf in the café. With a delicious tea or a new beautiful cookbook the next gray autumn days should not be a problem any more…

Das Essen sieht super aus aber zuhause kriege ich sowas nicht hin. Jetzt mal ehrlich, wie lange habt ihr für die Darstellung gebraucht 🙂
Wunderschöne Bilder! 🙂
